Believe me, I understand. I have been working in private practice for more than 15 years, but I went into it blindly, making mistakes and stumbling along the way. The good news is you don’t have to make all the same mistakes I did. The better news is I figured out how to make a great living doing what I love.
I’ve developed a plan to address all the questions you have that were never answered in school or at any of your other clinical settings. What makes private practice unique? The most exciting part–you are your own boss!–also means you have to make all the decisions. I’ve worked in community-based clinics, non-profit agencies, treatment centers and non-public schools. I love mentoring people starting a new career or transitioning from any clinical setting into private practice.
What will we be discussing? Renting vs. subletting, marketing, taking insurance or not, specializing, fee-setting, self-care, web presence, etc. There is no question too big or too small.
